Karaoke @ RedBox, The Curve

12th May 2007

Venue : RedBox, The Curve

Time : Dinner till late
Attendance : Everybody, lol. (ok
lah, i'm just too lazy to list all.)

The following will be a photoblog.

A grand room was booked. It's the biggest I've ever been in my RedBox -going history, not that I go there much though, heh heh. Still, it has a projector screen, one huge sofa, and 2 other sections, one that has a mini TV with playstation games, and the other has 3 screen's that's showing the videos that were played on the projector at the moment. Impressive huh?

I knew you couldn't see anyone in the previous shot, so here's everyone. 5 of the 6 mics were controlled by, Uncle Steven, Uncle Bear, Aunty Gabrielle, MOM (applause), and Bernard.

Oh, did I mentioned that there were attached washrooms too! One that I can hog for as long as I want, without getting into a queue. Ever wondered if a cordless mic can be brought into the toilet? Haha, imagine, some hardcore singer singing in the toilet with the mic and extra loud music, while squeezing out a chunk of poop. If you're lucky you might be able to catch the *ploop* of the shit diving into the toilet bowl from the speakers, muahaahaahaa...

Uncle Bear putting his heart into his singing, while Uncle Steven looks on. I must admit, they still having the groove despite their age =)

There you see William engrossed with his Playstation game, with Aunty Angie, Uncle Patrick and Aunty MeiLing deciding to just kick back, relax, and "enjoy" seeing us discover our "singing talents"

I sooo love Gwen Stefani!!! Has anyone heard 4 in the morning? Isn't it amazing?

The queue for the mic, and the current "Mic-whore", my bro -_-"

And so we gave Uncle Bear another birthday celebration, since our lunch came under a "Birthday Package" Oh well, good for him. And of course, for us too. Ahem.

The package comes with a birthday cake of choice, and buffet lunch for all. The food sucked. Big time. I understand that since we're not paying much anyway, so we shouldnt be expecting a food extravaganza. But seriously, the variety was too pathetic to be called a buffet. And the food, hardly anything to shout about. 'Nuff said.

A couple caught cudding, lol. You can't blame us for getting snuggly and all. *shrugs*

And guess what? We're not the only couple in the house (say that ala Jolin&DT) .
Couple #2: Daddy and Mummy getting all comfy, and happy about it.

Couple #3: Uncle Patrick, and Aunty MeiLing
We're together and not afraid to admit it! Don't we just look matching together.
(even the clothes, lol)

Couple #4: Uncle Phillip, and Aunty Angie looking like a million bucks!

Couple #?: Err, no couple here, lol... Just good pals, Uncle Steven and Uncle Bear.

Couple #5: Uncle Moon and Aunty Lily, I see the old flame still going strong!
The singing party went well until suddenly
.
.
.

Don't ask me what happened. Ask him. This picture was taken as ordered by dad.

Alrighty then, a shitload of photos done. More to come. I'm starting to think this is a good way to escape from writing alot of words, hahaha...

Next update: Mothers Day at Valencia.

Japanese Buffet Dinner @ PJ Hilton

Well, I remembered that I sorta mentioned about concerts and bands right? I'm afraid I can't blog about it now anymore, don't ask me why, ask Fluffy. He's shy lah, hehehe...

Okay, so I'm moving on to a long-awaited post on Uncle Bear's birthday! Yup, Tyng, the picutres are all here, as requested =)

A number of yall might feel curious. "Who is this Uncle Bear, I've never heard you mention about him before?!" Uncle Bear is an uncle of mine who resides in London, and occasionally pops back to say hi! I wish I have an Aunty Bear to introduce, but, I'm still waiting for an AngPow in Pound Sterling myself. Teeheehee~~~

28th April 2007

On this day, its approximately 2 weeks to my first paper and its been about one week after my last day of the semester. By right, the holidays started the moment my semester ends, it's just that my exams "just so happened" to be during my holidays. How "sweet" of the university right? I've been spending my weekdays in uni, dating my books and all. When Mom said we were gonna be having a Japanese Buffet in PJ Hilton... I mean, come on, who could pass off such an opportunity? Especially if you have been stuck in Semenyih, eating Pan Mee everyday, if not Maggi Mee.

Pictures Galore!

The entrance of Hilton Petaling Jaya. I took this photo will full intention to start off a roll of photos! Teeheehee...

The Japanese restaurant where we dined at. From the ugly splat of yellow ink at the top left corner, I just barely made out the word "Genji". So I shall assume that it's called Genji. I think it'd be much more amusing if they hired Afdlin Shauki to pose with cutleries in his SUMO outfit , instead of the lil clown in awful non-chef outfits XD

I like the deco, nice and warm, it's totally bad lighting for reading though. But hey, who needs to read a menu? It's a BUFFET, all you need is a nose to bring you to your food. Okay, so maybe the dim lighting doesn't show you the potentially devastating amount of numbers on the bill, directly.

I saw this thing on the way to our private dining area. It's so hideous. At first sight, it looked like they chopped out the head of some Japanese Farmer on his bad-hair-day for decoration. Seriously. It's definitely NOT deco.

Pictures showing food deprived Malaysian children. Why donate to Africa when children in your own country are starving?

More famished children! Look, they're turning into savages, eating their own cuzzies!

There, that would be your first glimpse of birthday boy, Uncle Bear, (second from left), the angmoh in blue is his friend from the UK, Steven, Mr. Sun-Shiney Yellow is my uncle, and last but not least, the only man who posed for the camera, DADDY! =D

And when I finally got the attention of the 3 other gentlemen who's too busy having man-talk, daddy shied away from the camera. Aiyo, the adults themselves are so disobedient, how can they expect us to be perfect all the time?

My appetizer, lovely lovely SALMON... cold, raw, and fresh, just the way I like it! Yumm...

People happy with their food. That's my GranPa in blue checks, Aunt Gabrielle, and again, Steven who's just adorable with his I-don't-eat-raw policy. Look, it's written all over his face. Lol.

Just look at the amount of food I chowed down that night. Damn, my skirt went from slightly loose to tight! I'm SUCH a sucker for food...

The birthday boy was ambushed by the restaurant staff with the birthday cake, and our totally out of tune rendition of Happy Birthday! =)

A lovely, mouthwatering birthday cake! Great, just what I need to burst my skirt with.

Group photo with our beloved Uncle Bear! And my cuzzies...with flash.

In another pose, without flash. I can't decide. Both looks uber good on my camera *smug*

Next up, Auntie Gabrielle is our honoured photographer for the next few shots. Ahem, gorgeous lamp-dedicated shots.
Note: The infamous Tiong-family trait follows.

Aunt said the lamp creates a wonderful effect on the wall, and it would make a great shot. I was told to take a photo next to it. This is the effect with flash. I didn't like it, I look horribly pale and sickly, even in my beige and white outfit. She didn't like it either, because the light effect wasn't obvious.

It didn't take me long to realise that the subject in her shot wasn't me, but the lamp. Haha, go ahead and laugh. I disabled the flash for her, just so she could take another shot of the lamp she love so much. I wonder if I can buy it from the restaurant for her birthday, since she loves it so much.

Introducing my 13 year old cuzzie, Wei Ter. He's got a good future ahead of him, he's a promosing poser *winkz*

Mischievious 7 year old William, and my bro. More high potential posers.

Demure 14 year old Suet Tyng, looking good in the light.

11 year old Suet Wei is a sister of Suet Tyng. She decided not to be left out from a shot with the now famous lamp as well =)

My sister Suet Mun also wants a piece of the glow and glamour! Alright, by now, you would've noticed that we're all crazy about this lamp. I believe that you're more than convinced that POSING RUNS IN THE FAMILY. We're all born posers, and not afraid to flaunt it =P

Enough of the lamp, even Mr. Rascal-William's got tired of it. Let us all soothe our eyes on the lovely sight of a 7 year old who has just lost his two front teeth. Aww, so cute right... Ever wondered why the two of them alway fall out at the same time?

Just testing my self-capturing skills. Not too bad huh? It's perfect for a wallpaper. Oh, lemme introduce you to our very own Mr. Lee Kuan Yew! Malaysian version of course. NO, I'm not kidding ya, that IS his real name, and he's 21 this year, and not a retired S'porean PM.

After the dinner, and posing warm up session, everyone's a full fledged camwhore!

See? No joke.

Reflections...

Flash-free reflection. I apologise for the bad quality. Despite editting, this is brightest I could get.

Another disappointing flash-free shot. So nice, yet wasted. I want the PhotoShop software!

The "Bloated" "Charmed" Ones.

"I don't really wanna kiss her, I'm just pretending"
"I knew she's not really gonna kiss me, she already has her eyes on someone else"

Chair says: "I'm crumbling under the weight ... So long, world!"

"Oh, I think I see a hot-hot-hottie over there"
"Pee-ka-boo, you can't see me, but I can see you!"

This should be about it. I believe there's enough poser pictures for all in one day. For my cuzzies, double click to enlarge image and right click to save. Please send this link to Uncle Bear too, I don't have his latest email. Thanks!

Next update: Karaoke session at RedBox, The Curve.

Clarins results

Alrighty then, I'm back people! Done with Year 1 Pharmacy, and I'm chucking all things stress-related to the back of my closet.

Bring it on baby, holidays till... get this, END OF SEPTEMBER!!! Oh yea, for all of you nasty people who have been sniggering at us poor Nottingham-mers, IN YOUR FACE! That's like, emm, more than 4 months.

*EViL LauGH*

So yeah, lately, there's been a load of people asking me how the Clarins Makeover Competition went. To put it simply, I was outvoted by some aunty.

To check out the winners, please click here. Regardless of the results, I just wanna extend my gratitude to those who sacrificed several precious minutes for my sake. I totally appreciate it you guys.

To start off the string of posts that I'll be flooding this place with, I'll be posting up pictures from my Clarins Makeover experience.

It started with a staff cleasing my face with a dozen of their products, hmm... I thought the girl was a bit too hard on the facial cotton, she must be on PMS.

Ooo, she's cool, the hairstylist, she's fixed dozens of hair for this Clarins makeover campaign. Plus, her work is totally amazing... Check this out!

Take a closer look! It's a good hair day! It looks so soft and shiny, wee~~ I just love the hair, you cant even see any one of the dozen of pins she stuck in my hair. Heh heh...

Next up, Make-up lady pins up my hair so that she get full unrestricted access to my face. Whoahahaha, my face is in her hands, literally.

Look, she's so serious, and my face is oh-so-pale. The amount of foundation she used covered everything so well, I can't even see my usual pink blush anymore.

And more makeup was slapped onto my face.

Make up half done, there ain't anything pretty about incomplete makeup. Nuh-uh.

Nah, just kidding. She could've done that to me, but she didn't. That's why I say, my face was in her hands. Hehe, hope ya didn't get a cardiac arrest for that. Here's the makeup, 'medium-rare'.

And the makeup, well-done! Oh, I really do think Lime-Green works on me, the spaghetti top I mean. I never thought I'd be able to carry it off, heehee.

Taa-daa... The shoot follows... Time to fatten up, my legs look mighty skinny there. Oh, we actually took more picture in other costumes. Unfortunately only one was selected for the competition.

Behind the scenes revealed. Courtesy of my beloved Fluffy! He's so wonderful, he drive me there, and spent the whole day just waiting for me. Love him so much. Miss him so much too =( Poor boy has another paper to go and is stuck in uni till next week. Baby, you can do it!

Stay tuned for more posts, on the happenings in uni, karaoke sessions, and Japanese Buffet.

Study Break

It's finally the end of my Year 1 studies in uni. Yikes, and that just means, that the worse is yet to come. So what if I'm having my holidays now? Exams's in 2 weeks time, and oh, there's so much to study! Whatever happened to the good old days when passing a paper didn't even require any reading at all? I remember, back then, all I worried was whether what I'm doing is enough for an A1. Now? I'd be eternally grateful if I would just pass. I'm facing it alright, a new type of education that's too lazy to spoonfeed you. Gah...

Enough of that, point is, I'll be having a study break, so the blog shall be temporarily abandoned till the end of my exams in May, that should be about the 12th, or something like that. I've got so much to blog about, and photos too, if I can get my hands on them. Let's see, there's Chill-Out concert (where Fluffy's band was invited to play at), Pharmacy's very own WWIII, Mummy's birthday, Ms.Reads, my internship and more, more, MORE. Oooh, and I might even be revamping the template of this page, teeheehee... okay, pray for me, wish me luck. I need it, lol...

Till then, all the best to all you peeps out there, whether you're cramming for you mid-years, of end-of-the-years (UK unis only), stay strong, drink plenty of water, and do not forget to rest! You don't want to fall sick when it matters the most. Also, Pharmacy people, I'm always online for discussion =) Cheerz!

Signing off, just for a month, The Ling.

New Links

There're new links added to my blog, just so you know. To get you started, allow me to introduce you to...

Dominic Teoh
An eccentric friend of mine. Dom is a degree student in Nottingham University Business School (NUBS). Just by judging from his looks, attitude and writings, you wouldn't believe this dude is just turning 18 this year! Coming from a complex background, I find his thoughts intriguing... Definitely, worth checking out.

Carolyn Thang
Oh Carol! Lol, tough girl here. A once Science student who daringly diverted to take on a foreign but profitable *KaChinG* path. She's one of the most disciplined person I know, and I meant it in the most affectionate manner possible! A perfectionist, an achiever, and Help Institute's A'Levels Prom Queen . Sink into her blog and discover her insight on life.

Chien Hui
This one here, is my coursemate! One of the rare bloggers in my hectic MPharm course. Isn't it amazing how she manages to find time to blog?? I know I'm terrible at frequent updates, I should really learn from her. At first, I thought she was a really cool person. After awhile, she's really quite nice =) For those who's interested to know more about Uni life, for a future pharmacist's point of view.

Other Nottingham dwellers who blogs : GayGary, Zhao the Bleach Dude and Lilian Wong.

Please support their blogs, in the spirit of "Support Malaysian Bloggers"!

The horrifying urine test!

As part of my MPharm requirement, it's totally compulsory for us to be immune to the potentially fatal Hepatitis B. Being health professionals, ya know? We don't want to contract any yucky microbes, to pass on to other patients. Although that would be a good idea... More sick patients, more business, more moolah to splurge on Starbucks ;)

Last Saturday, I went to the clinic for a blood test. Since I'm studying Haematology anyway, I decided to go for a full scale blood test, heh heh, to see if the stuff that my lecturer feeds us is right! That's cause I'm perfectly normal, right? Right?!

I fasted 10 ghastly hours for this. 10 hours without food, oh poor me, there goes my fattening plan. Mr.Doc took out an 8ml needle-syringe! Yikes! I totally freaked out and started asking him loads of questions. It was so utterly embarassing....

"OMG, are you really gonna fill that thing?"

"How many syringes do you need?"

"You're taking so much blood?"

"How come the syringe's moving by itself?"

"Are there anticoagulants in those tubes?"

"What's that gel in the tubes for?"

I think Mr.Doc got tired of me already by the second question. Still, he patiently answered my questions, so sweeet~~~ The needle, was well bigger than I had expected! I watched it pierce right through my skin, into my veins. Before it was entirely inserted, I even saw a lil bit my blood leaked out. Ewww... The creepy part was when I saw my dark red blood, gradually filling the transparent syringe. I can feel Mr.Doc drawing blood outta my veins, the way it oozed out of my elbow into the needle. And I watched it all, all the way, developing goosebumps, and suppressing the strong urge of slapping the syringe-shaped mosquito. I told myself, it is NOT a bad mosquitoe, it is a GOOD mosquitoe. There's no used slapping it to death, it won't go 'splat' into a pile of dead carcass and half-digested blood. Ahh~ which reminds me the satisfaction of doing so to a real mosquitoe~~~

Then they handed me an empty plastic container, asking for an urine sample. I was like, WHAT?! Heck I just pee-ed that morning, where am I supposed to find more pee for you? Well, since you wanted it, I sat in the toilet for some time, and just managed a couple of mililitres. Thank goodness it was enough. Enough to show that there're something wrong with my pee!

The results were released on Wednesday. Everything was perfect with my blood. Yay! I had enough Hep B immunity to keep me away from another syringe! Wee~~~! But, the same cannot be said about my urine. Apparently, I've got traces of protein in it. By right, the kidney's supposed to filter all large molecules back into the body. The thought of a faulty kidney scared the lights outta me. I went back to my GP the following weekend. Mr. Doc disregarded the matter, saying that it was really quite impossible for someone of my age to be having kidney problems, my blood seemed perfectly fine. He suggested that it was most probably due to some other reasons, such as bladder cell renewal or something like that. Yay~~~

I'm perfectly healthy! Nothing to worry about~~ Okay la, so it's just my weight maybe. Recently we had an experiment on Lung Function Testing! I screwed the results big time I think. I'm technically the smallest, weighing in at just 40kgs and 159cm, I seem to have a bigger and better lung than the rest of them larger girls. Muahaahaahaa..... I may be small, but I'm FIT. I thank my kickboxing training for that. Though the weight still needs working on. After 18 years, why won't my weight be obedient just once?! Sigh~~

A rose has emerged

A new rose has flourished in the realm. One that I have never realised to exist. one that has been blooming for all its worth, oblivious to me. I have noticed its intriguing scent lingering. A scent that is hardly impossible to ignore. So irresistable the scent, this single stalk has been constantly showered lovingly by rain, as well as from the birds and the bees, that fall prey to its attractive scent. All around it, to many it is an occassion to rejoice, a time for celebration. There has been overwhelming attention paid to nourish the rose, which is now blooming more vibrantly day by day. Alas, a rose will always be a rose. Its beauty shall be the ultimate challenge for everything else. Its charm shall be the reason for its survival. The art of deception, beautifully mastered. It chooses for you, what you are to see. Playing everything that it has to its advantage, one often forgets what it will still carry on its stalk and support. A worthy competitor, a deserving survivor, amongst the garden bed, where other petal bearers seem to pale in comparison, at least, to eyes that choose to believe so, instead of taking a closer look. Challenges lie in waking up from a dream, to rise above its charm. Pretty to the eye as it is, a rose will not always please. The time will come when one is no longer capable of serving up to the rose's demand. And by the time it has wilted in your care, it will be too late to realise that a rare orchid which seedling happened to stumbled across this lovely garden by chance, has been striving for survival for as long as its memory extends. Along came an admirer who truly admires it for what it is, and finally offered the care and attention that it rightfully deserves. All is lost, simply in a presence of a temporary attraction that has blinded the loyal and defied the trustworthy. An innocent garden guardian, relieved of what was his pride and glory, in the middle of an empty garden.

Clarins Instant Light Contest, Vote for Me!

Just last weekend, I popped by to MidValley, and participated in the Clarins competition. Normally I would just wave my hands and go: bah, not interested. I guess the main thing that sparked my interest was that, if Fluffy can join Talent Quest, then why not me? It's probably about time that I climb out of my comfort zone and start attempting stuff out there. So there.

A big ass photo of myself. This is something you don't see everyday, for sure. For starters, I'm not keen on having makeup ALL the time. I don't have Laici-like complexion, and eventhough it's not exactly porcelain either, I'm proud of it. Proud of being au-naturale, from top to bottom. No dyed hair (original colour, mind you), no slimming whatevers, no implants, no plastic surgery, and rarely with makeup (when the occassion calls for it, minimal).

For this shot, Clarin's cleansed my face with their products, and even threw in a dollop of moisturiser, aww... so considerate XD. They had professional who did my hair, and my makeup, and a photographer who choreographed the shot. Caitlyn, the girl who did my hair was sooo pretty, and she's patient too. I thought she did a good job on my hair. The makeup artist was uber patient too, I couldn't help blinking while she was applying stuff on my eyes. Oh sure, it doesn't look too heavy in the photo, but man, there was ALOT of makeup that went into it. For the face, she mixed about 4 different types of substances before smearing it all over my face, then followed by powder, and lastly blusher. The first layer was so thick, I couldn't see my natural flush on my cheeks anymore. Then came the eyes, I don't know how many colours she used, but there were pencils, and several pallettes of shadow. Lipstick and gloss came on last of all. As you may noticed, she did do a good job. Wow, she had to, maybe expensive (very expensive!) makeup helped make her job easier. Woo~ I'm wearing branded stuff on my face okay? Lol, I definitely can't afford those on a regular basis, hence I deserve a few seconds worth of bragging rights. The photographer (a male) was well, gay-ish. A patient man too, with a stiff and giggly subject (whoelse but me?) whose waist, shoulders, and neck were twisted and turned in odd directions for him to make the perfect shot. I smiled, without my teeth, and he went like, SHOW YOUR TEETH. Immediately, I gave him the grin he wanted. Seriously, you had to be there to see it, I was hilariously the joke of the day. Oh and that furry thing I had on me, it was his selection, and preference. I wouldn't have settled for it, if given a choice. It was, well, aunty-ish, ya know? My lime green tube was not pretty enough for the camera I guess =(

So yeah, VOTE FOR ME. Cliche, but its the most efficient phrase. In return for your kind support, Clarins is offering free trial products, and makeovers too! If you don't want it, I'm sure your girlfriend/girl-but-just-a-friend/mom/sister would want it. Expensive, branded stuff okay? Lol...

Click HERE, this should take you to the page where you can vote for me. Just in case, you don't remember, the name's Suet Ling. If you can't find me, try navigating to pages 5 or 7. Thank you in advance! Oh and if you have multiple accounts, you can get multiple Freebies with multiple votes *winkz*

The Year of the Fire Boar

I keep telling myself that I can blame no one, for I brought this onto myself. I chose this Uni, who's extremely EXTREMELY stingy with their holidays, even for CNY. I'll say, about a good 40-50% of the student population is made up of chinese, why can't they be a wee bit more generous?

CNY pretty much sucked. It shouldn't be this way. Joey Yap said so.

Dragon (1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000)

While 2006 proved to be rough for Dragons, the Year of the Fire Boar won’t bring the best luck to Dragons, but there will be a marked improvement in all areas of your life. Good things await Dragons this year. Employment by or of Dragons will witness good relations, with ideas and plans supported at work and home. Married Dragons will enjoy stable relationships, while single Dragons should take the initiative to meet the right person. There will be strong support from those around you, and opportunities for promotion or salary increment. Contain your spending urge, however, and maintain fiscal discipline this year.

Check out yours here!!!'

Marked improvement?
Okay lar, at least I'm still getting something from gambling.

Good relations, ideas, and plans supported at work and home.
Hmm, so far so good. I did realised that I managed to meet some decent souls like Cyril, and also that I've fantastic friends around me! Ideas and plans, not much at the moment, but yeah, everyone has been pretty supportive of my intentions.

Stable relationships
I can't tell for sure. By right, we're supposed to be going steady. Encountering a rough path every now and then, but overcoming each and everyone as they come. Then there's the going to UK part that we're working very hard on. Hopefully we'll be able to survive the usually rocky first year.

Opportunities for promotion or salary increment
Oooh! Does this mean I'll get that during my summer internship? Yippee!

Contain spending urge, maintain fiscal discipline
Aww, less spending. That's sooo sad. I'm spending very little already. But shopping therapy has such good effects on me... *whines* Fiscal discipline. Right, that I can't do. Not especially when I'm all stressed up with reports and assignments, and bad Semenyih food. Born naturally rebellious, I despise control. Even Fluffy's having a hard time making me eat before going for my group discussion *shrugs*

A short post before I head off back to uni... Sigh, bye bye lovely wonderful KL, again.

Tracking Thieves

This is a story of how I tracked down the thief who stole my handphone.

It basically starts something like this. Throughout the one week period that the thief had possesion of my mobile number. She (yes, it's a she) happily drained my prepaid credit, obviously to call/sms some people. After I had reverted control of my own number, those people that she contacted weren't aware that the number had just changed hands. Just a few days ago, one guy contacted my number, asking for LEVI's coupons. Instinctively, I lied to that poor guy, to bring him out. I had to, it was the only way to find out who was the culprit. All those nightmares I've been having about my phone, I had to face it. At Asia Cafe Subang Jaya, I met up with this person, Cyril. Guess what? He turned out to be a A Levels Taylorian junior! Not long after I spilled out my plight, he decided to help me, just like that? Wow, I didn't know people like this still exist! He didn't even mind me lying to him for the past few days and understood why I had to do it. In addition, he volunteered to help us find the culprit. The person he was expecting to see was Anne Kong, the assistant supervisor of the Playboy/Add-On/ Izzue boutique. I was like : WTF! That's where I lost the phone. This is good evidence to support my previous suspicion that a staff stole it! Apparently, she called him up several times with my number. To make this even more suspicious, she told him that gray Sony Ericsson was a new phone that she got. What a liar, that bitch! The extra information that Cyril provided was that, they used to live together in the same rented house in SS15, until she moved out due to attitude problems with the tenants and issues with the landlord. Oh yeah, the more juicier bit is that her resume was FAKED to get this Asst. Supervisor job. Never expected anyone to go this low.

Soon after, Bernard got us to 1U. While on our way to the boutique, we passed by Jusco Supermarket, where he caught Hannah Tan checking out at the cashier. Lol, I was excited at first. Even pushed them both, Bernard and Cyril forward to ask for a photo or autograph when they took a few steps backward for a second look. Sure enough it was her. She was about my height, and I won't deny it, super uber hot! Gorgeous really. The boys just couldn't tear their eyes away, well it paid off anyway, Hannah noticed and flashed them a smile. I think they both STIM-ed on the spot. I can't help but also feel that spotting Hannah in the flesh was one of the redeemign factors that justified wasting their time and effort to help me worthwhile. For that several minutes, all I could get out of them was "Hannah Tan is damn hot". I know that, and I couldn't help but felt my heart being scrunched up more each time. They are men after all, driven very much by that lil piece of "brain" down there, more than the brain up there. Who could blame them, I understand. But no one can blame me for emo-ing about it too. There's only so much that a girl can take on emotionally in a day. I AM having that time of the month after all, it hurts so much I can barely stand throughout the day, I didn't say anything about it. I had to be strong, I started this mission, and I had to keep going. Supressing emo-ness is so hard, expecially with period being the EMO-AMP, as Ken puts it. Even the most emo person said I was being especially emo. Sigh... I'm a girl, how can I not get emo? I allowed it to chip away at my emotions bit by bit.

Emo-ism aside. I did find Anne Kong, and asked to speak in private. She refused, or maybe she didn't understand what "private" means. She stood there and I told her about my phone. Then out of the blue, she was running all around the boutique, I could tell from her body language that she was freaking out. After trailing her for awhile, she hid in the stock room. We grew impatient after a long while, and knocked on it. Her army of staff went all protective. However, "job at stake" and "police report" seemed to have broken down their defense very well. We did manage to get Anne out. Here are some of the stuff she said. Pardon the bad English, she actually invented a plural form for money called "moneyS" somehwere in our conversation.

"Who you think you are?!"
Duh, I'm here to ask you something! And I came with proof. Obviously I'm someone you need to be careful with, because I can make you lose your job and put you in jail.

"I don't know your phone!"
Oh puh-leez, you were the person who told me to leave down my number and contacts in case you guys found it, on the day I lost it.

"Later my boss thinks I bring friends come, I will get trouble."
You're already in trouble miss. Your boss already knows, you're making a commotion, and a fool out of yourself. You spoke loudly in uneven tones, you drew the attention not me. I was the one who offered privacy, which you failed to take advantage of.

"Do you know I'm working?"
Why else would we find you here? Obviously we can't find you anymore other than at your workplace aka Crime Scene. It's not like you sleep here at night or something. Stupid question.

"The IC we find is not yours."
WTF??!!! Who are you to judge that? You don't know my IC number, you don't know how I looked like when I was younger, and you don't know my name, nor my address. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

"That number is not your number, it's Jessica Tan's number!"
Who else memorises number nowadays? Unless she's your bestie, or even a close family member. You said she wasn't even your friend. How can you tell it's Jessica's number just by looking at it? Plus, I've been using the same number since Form 3. You gave me so much bullshit. You're probably making this up too. How did Jessica Tan come into this picture anyway?

"...she owes me money... I use her phone... Can't contact Jessica..."
She's implying that Jessica's the one with my phone and number. Jessica's not even a staff? She couldn't bring out Jessica even. According to her, Jessica Tan is a student at Help Institute, from Klang. I was wondering if anyone can find her? Her innocence is at stake, and I do want to clarify this once and for all.

The manager was there, but he was no help at all. Anne kept denying and pushing the blame onto someone else. How much of this is true, I do not know. Publicly, I would like to thank Cyril, Fluffy, Zhao, my roomies, my family and so many others who has given me support to go through this. You guys are the greatest! You have no idea how eternally grateful I was to know that you guys were there for me when I was helpless. Couldn't have done it without y'all! Bernard said I was stubborn and brave. It scares me after the entire ordeal, to think that I actually had the strength to go through all these. To be able to face the incident that has been haunting me, going through period and being sick at the same time. You know what? I actually slept well last night. No nightmares about my phone, and I'm no longer sick. As fit as fiddles now! Somehow, I had a feeling that the incident had some kind of mental impact on me, that I couldnt sleep well, and fell sick. Either way, I'm glad that I tried, at least, although I didn't manage to get it back. I bet I scared Anne enough, if she were the thief. Most probably she will never lay her hands on another phone that did not belong to her again. It's the least I could do to help everyone hang on to their phones. Now that the management is aware of it, I bet they will keep a closer eye on monitoring their staff. Now that I've got it off my chest, I've decided to let it go. No police reports. Plus, I've wasted enough of Cyril's time. Through our previous correspondence, in which I lied to bring him out, I "promised" him Levi's coupons. In return for his good heart, I gave him some McDonalds vouchers instead. After all, he did spend the entire afternoon helping me, a stranger. Fate brought me to know this guy, and I intend to keep him as a friend.

To this moment, it sickens me to know such evil people are lurking around us. And yet, Cyril gave that shimmer of hope that goodness still thrives! Please help others, as Cyril helped me. For starters, you can contribute to UNIM's Charity Concert and After Party this upcoming Wednesday! It's organized by the Dance, Youth and Ace Society. Fluffy's performing, lol, and so is K'Town Clan! Only RM 25/ ticket, see you there!

What an adventure huh?

Lost Phone and number recovery

AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

By now, most of you would be cursing me badly for not picking up calls, replying sms-es, or even for not sending CNY wishes. My apologies. Rest assured that I really do not mean to do that.

Thing is, I can do nothing about it. My phone's stolen, along with my purse. Yes, again. No, I don't intend to repeat the story about how I lost it. I'm still heart-brokened about it, to the extent of dreaming about recovering dear old ISIS. On the bright side, at least the thief has the decency to return me most of the stuff that's in my purse. Apparently, the thief loves my purse. The thief rather pull out all the cards from like 10 compartments, than just take cash and leave the purse alone. Hmm... stuff that the thief did keep for him/herself are my Touch'n'Go card, Nottingham currency (oh puhleez, like these have any value outside campus, what a moron!), and cash worth about Rm 30 (thank goodness I spent them all before losing it)

A police report has been made, and I'm making do with my sister's handphone for now. I have now regained possession of my original 019 number, and can be reached through it.

A light of precaution just for my fellow friends. Knowing how utterly upsetting losing a dear handphone is, take this advice.

I lost my phone in ADD-ON / Izzue boutique in One Utama, right opposite Burger King in the old wing. Then somehow, after several hours, my documents were recovered in a plastic bag (like the ones that they use to wrap brand new clothes) in the changing room. I stayed at the boutique for like an hour after I lost it, turning the boutique upside down. I know I searched everywhere. Why would something appear like that outta nowhere after several hours? Surely a thief would have vacated the premises after the crime? I have a good mind to suspect that it's the staff in that boutique who did it. In addition, it was not a professional thief. My phone was still ringing one week later while in the thief's possession. A professional thief would have gotten rid of my SIM card right away. My advice is to practice caution while frequenting this particular store. They may have dishonest staff, and is not equipped with CCTV. Remember the shop, practice caution! Don't let this happen to you.

Right now, I won't be getting a new phone soon. I'm still too emotionally attached to my ol' ISIS. The naive me is still banking of getting it back. Don't ask me how, don't ask me why. I just know that there's a way, and this means a little bit of hope. When there's a shimmer of hope, I'm not about to give up on ISIS. Wish me luck, in catching this criminal! Just because I wasn't careful enough doesn't give that thief a right to steal. We're both wrong, but I'm not about to let that thief prance away with rewards while I endure intense emotional sufferings.

Frenchmen aren't good at CPRs

Conclusion of the week: Never leave a Frenchman in reach of a dummy!

Normally, I would find lecturers turning up later than me, although technically, I was already several minutes late. What to do? Bed's too warm and comfy mah, hehe... One fine day, I expected myself to be several minutes earlier. But, there was a man, a HUGE man, standing in front of the lecture room already engrossed in his slides. I totally couldn't believe my eyes! Not only he was early, he was already teaching eventhough the class was merely half-filled!

I sat through the class, making full observation, and also full concentration, despite it still being the wee hours of the morning. Yes, 10 sumting is still a "wee hour". This, is Dr. Christophe Wiart, is French! Great, that explains alot! The strong sideburns, the Rrrrrrrs, the overly gentleman manner, the very weird accent (his pronounciation is beyond my comprehension), and the quirky attitude too, maybe?

Speaking of quirky...
He gets us into a fit of giggles everytime, seriously! At times, I wonder if he's disguised as a lecturer instead. I have never in my life seem such a playful educator. He's just like everyone of us, understanding our every intention and interest. You should have seen him in a recent lab session, when we learnt the CPR and Heimlich Maneuver. There he was, tossing the infant dummy around, slapping the adult dummy, joking bout the dummy's "amputated right leg". Even our guest speaker were puzzled about his behaviour. We didn't seem to be complaining one bit, well, maybe except for Duncan, he's been complaining about him eversince his first lecture. Gah, that made understanding his French accent even harder. Though he seems to be having fun in class, his teaching is, surprisingly good! He would go to great lengths to get his point across, diagrams, animations with sound effects (not the Flash type, he performs it, literally bringing facts to life, lol!). Maybe he did get carried away sometimes, by wasting no time explaining. And that cost us another extra lecture because he couldn't finish in time. Thankfully, with our extended understanding, we saved hours of reading in return. It all summed up pretty nicely in the end ya?

Principal, the daughter of a weed!

This is a story about the Principal of SMKBUD2.

Once upon a time, (actually it's about 24 hours ago), a poor student (guess who?) seeked helped from a Principal. All she needed was several signatures to verify some documents that should be submitted for her PTPTN study loan application. She even brought along the original documents so that the Principal could see that she's not cheating. Moments after voicing out her humble request to a staff, the staff returned saying that the Principal simply will not oblige. (That daughter of a weed!) Infuriated and disappointed, the girl had no choice but to voice out her frustration elsewhere. A complaint letter has been submitted to the relevant authorities, and she wishes the mean Principal a not too happily ever after. The End.

Her defence:

Being rejected before I could see the principal or submit her documents is absolutely absurd!!! She rejected me dead flat, just like that. To think I was recommended to go see the Principal in the form itself, ugh. No, she wasn't in a meeting. No, she didn't have a guest at that time. And No, she had no real reason to say NO. However, she did spare some effort to come up with the lamest of excuses. She claims that she did not want to be cheat. What the fork. Hello, that's why I brought along the originals. She could at least look at them. Should she suspect any traces of fraud and is unwilling to sign, that would've been much more acceptable I say. It is strictly in her job description to deal with such situations, professionally. Furthermore, she is being paid by taxpayers TO WORK, not to decline work. A government servant, she is definitely not. Why? Because she doesn't serve the public, a government leecher sounds more like it. A Principal like this deserve none of the respect due for one of her position. Call her a representative from the education sector of the government if you like. She is not encouraging the study loan applications, I shall go on to assume that this government representative does nothing to encourage higher education either. It's either this, or we're paying for imbeciles who are much more concerned about securing their pretty little office with a shiny name plate, rather than doing the job itself. Who elected an officer of such low quality to hold such an important post in the first place? I've seen many Principals who live up to their standards and their paycheck in the past. Yes, I'm biased only against that single one who turned me down.

I don't just say I believe in my rights. I mean it and I do it. As a responsible citizen, I'm only doing my part. No offense, I had to get it out of my system anyway. It's ruining my appetite, and I've got Baskin Robbins to finish. Ahh~
